The 20 Biggest Cities in the World at the 2012 Census

This is a list of the the 20 Biggest Cities in the World at the 2012 census. 

This list is from the World atlas site and include population within the recognized metro area of the city, and they also include people living in the immediate surrounding area outside of the established border of the city, (the immediate suburbs).

Tokyo or Tokyo Metropolis, in Japan, is the largest metropolitan area in the world, with 37,126,000. Tokyo city is considering building a mega city, Shimizu TRY 2004 Mega-City Pyramid, to increase, even more, the population of the city. Click here to see How to build a Megacity of the Future ?
